What are we finding?

First Insights: What are we finding?

Explore the early findings of the project and tell us what you think. Are we on the right track? Did we miss something? What do you think?

Please note that we have now submitted papers for publication that build on the results we discussed with you first in webinars in March 2018. Thank you.

  1. Informal Knowledge Management Tools (what tools, other than PHIMS, are used in practice and what can they tell us?)
  2. Key Performance Indicators for health promotion and three types of practice styles

Right now we are drafting papers and preparing feedback to you on:
  • How practitioners make decisions about what type of data should/should not be in PHIMS and how this begins to shape the knowledge base for practice
  • How much work goes into achieveing a 'tick' for a KPI in different sites and the implications of this
  • How seemingly 'external' programs selected for scale-up have local origins and roots, and the implications of this for sustainability
  • How PHIMS use has embedded within practice
  • How local and introduced resources are harnessed for program implementation
  • How PHIMS/HCI has impacted the workforce and shaped the way health promotion is defined and seen

Who knew so much knowledge could come from studying practice? We all did!  Thanks for your part in this. And there is more to come. We are excited to see so much insight come from the project, illustrating that people ‘at the coalface’ generate knowledge. They don’t just implement knowledge.
